Dear ACI Suisse Members
In April 2022, central banks and other authorities in 52 countries, including Switzerland, conducted national surveys of turnover in the foreign exchange markets. FX market activity has been surveyed every three years since 1986, coordinated by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel. The BIS Triennial Central Bank survey is the most comprehensive source of information on the size and structure of global foreign exchange markets. The global results show that trading in foreign exchange markets averaged $7.5 trillion per day in April 2022.
On 1 February 2023, we will have the pleasure to welcome Mathias Drehmann, Head of Markets Committee Secretariat, Monetary and Economic Department, BIS and Vladyslav Sushko, Senior Economist, Monetary and Economic Department, BIS who will present the results of the survey and the key findings of the analysis published in the BIS Quarterly Review.
