We are very pleased to invite you to our next business event “China – dos and don’ts for foreign investing in current backdrop” on October 4th, 2023 at the Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten in Zurich!
We have seen significant changes in the global economy over the last decade and traditional alliances among nations are facing complex challenges and significant shifts in geopolitics. China´s political and business relationships with the rest of the world - particularly the US and the EU - is in the spotlight and will have a substantial impact on financial markets.
On October 4th, 2023, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Kent Kedl, Partner and Head of Control Risks’ Greater China and North Asia who has been living and working in China for more than 35 years.
Control Risks is a specialized risk consulting firm advising corporate institutions and investors with in-depth geopolitical expertise and Kent will speak about the overarching goal of the Xi Jinping administration and the impacts of politics on economic policy. He will share insights on the perception of the economic situation in general and give an outlook on the real estate market and the insolvency challenge of provinces and municipalities and its potential impact on China, Asia, and the world.
De-coupling and de-risking are common - but often ill-defined - concepts, but the challenges to foreign investors goes much farther than simple concepts. Kent will reflect more broadly on geopolitical risks for businesses and speak about trends and challenges of foreign financial investors' business strategies in China.
